Our Story
.Xenoph, known as Chef Xen, born and raised in Fife, Scotland is a highly experienced and dedicated Professional Chef with more than 25 years experience in the hospitality industry. Xen launched For Food Sake in January 2021 following his role as Head of Catering at 5 Star Iconic Scone Palace.
Xen has an impressive pedigree with part of his earlier career in Dunfermline Town, as Head Chef with Townhouse Restaurant and St Margaret’s Hotel. Later, moving to Edinburgh he opened a number of Mariachi Mexican Restaurants and became the Head Chef at the infamous Tijuana Yacht Club which formerly stood on Hanover Street. Xen moved on from Mexican into contract catering with Elior UK as Head Chef in the newly built Hibernian Training Centre in Ormiston, as well as providing ad-hoc hospitality support to Heart of Midlothian Football Club, Murrayfield Stadium and various other Elior Stadia sites.
Eventually moving his career in-house with Hibernian Football Club, Xen’s career stretched across a full 10 Years as Head Chef with the Club continuing to manage the Training Centre, working with dieticians to ensure the health and nutrition of professional athletes, as well as managing all hospitality at the Football Stadium. Following the Scottish Cup win, and a move back to Fife in 2015 with his wife and family, Xen transferred his career closer to Perth taking up the position as Head Chef and Production Manager at the prestigious Strathallan School followed by his appointment to Head of Catering at Scone Palace.
For Food Sake is a small family business based in Dalgety Bay. Xen’s wife Sabrina is a Business Development Manager at an International Law Firm experienced in providing a vast array of bespoke services and events, combined they provide a wealth of experience and expertise to the Hospitality and Catering Industry.
Xen’s experience in banqueting and hospitality combined with the effects of the pandemic has highlighted the need for versatility in food and dining experiences in Fife. The restaurant model has changed and people are discovering other ways of enjoying restaurant quality food in their own home, at a suitable time to them.
